Who Qualifies for Admission

To be considered for placement at ANSEC, all prospective students must meet the following conditions set by the Ghana Education Service.

1
Completed Junior High School (JHS) — Applicants must have successfully completed the full three-year JHS programme at an accredited basic school in Ghana.
2
Sat for and passed the BECE — Applicants must have written the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
3
Placed via the CSSPS system — Admission is through the national Computerized School Selection and Placement System. Students must select ANSEC as a school choice during the selection process.
4
Complete the school's admission formalities — Placed students must report by the official reporting date with all required documents and complete the school's registration and orientation programme.
5
Acceptable BECE aggregate score — While the CSSPS determines placement, students should aim for strong aggregate scores to improve chances of being placed in their preferred programme.
What is the CSSPS?

The Computerized School Selection and Placement System is Ghana's national automated system managed by the Ghana Education Service for placing qualified JHS graduates into Senior High Schools across the country.

Students choose up to six SHS schools in order of preference. The system matches students to schools based on their BECE results and school capacity.
